What board size is right for you?
One question on every new winger’s mind is how many liters do I need in my wing board? Will it float me? Can I get away with a smaller size? Can I get one board to learn on that is small enough that I will never want to upgrade? The below chart provides a general framework for sizing your board based on weight and experience.

What Size Wing Foil Board is Right For You?
Which wing size is right for you?
As a general rule, a rider under 150 pounds should start with a wing around 4 square meters. For riders over that weight, a 5 meter wing will be a better place to start. This is very much an average – if you’re riding in lighter winds or want more power, you’ll want to go with a larger wing. If you’re a light weight rider or winging in high winds, you’ll want to go with something smaller.Â
If this is your second wing and you are looking for consistent, high performance across the whole wind range, it’s smart to separate your wings by 1M increments for most models. That will ensure you are going to have a wing that is properly powered no matter what the wind is reading.
Perhaps you are looking to make each wing maximize its wind range, then a 2m gap works well until you get below 4m. At that point, you’ll want to go to 1m gaps due to the exponential power of wind at higher speeds. Using this method, you’ll have times where you are overpowered or underpowered at times depending on the range of wind and the sail you chose but it will help you maximize your range using fewer wings.

F-one Rocket Wing ASC 5’10” Foilboard
Hard to beat the bang for your bucks on this one. F-ONE has put all its experience in foil and wingsurf designs to create the ideal board which will suit most of the wingfoil riders needs. With its compact length and light weight, the board is responsive and ideally suited to cruising or surfing on a foil, a wing in your hands.
- Fun and responsive
- Stable and forgiving
- Durable and user-friendly
At 5’10 for 110L. the board has enough volume and width to make it possible for most riders to stand-up easily as well as making sure that riding back to the shore is possible, even when the wind drops. Its dimensions are ideal for an easy progression.
For lighter weight or more experienced riders the 5’5″ 90L ASC will be a great fit.
Using some straight rocker lines for an easy take-off and a wide tail outline for an optimized volume distribution, the ROCKET WING ASC features a sharp beveled rail profile to make the release easier during take-off and the touch-down smoother when the board hits the water again. In other words, you will be up and flying in no time and you won’t be unsettled when occasionally hitting the water.
The ROCKET WING ASC is equipped with a recessed handle for easy carrying, a full pad for comfort and with the twin track system on the bottom to connect with most foils on the market (4-bolt plate system). It is built around a light core made of eps foam injected into a specific mold carved to its own shape. This core is then laminated with fiberglass and epoxy resin into another mold and wrapped inside a protective shield skin. This shield, made of polymer, is both ultra-thin and very durable.

The foils of the Phantom line are designed to glide effortlessly when pumping or connecting waves and then prove very agile and precise when surfing. Using a refined design to achieve higher finesse, the Phantom foils glide faster and for longer. Connecting waves whether during surfing or downwinding thereby becomes much easier and more fun. Yet, connecting waves isn’t much fun if you can’t turn and this is why carving is also part of the DNA of the Phantom foils. By working on the lift distribution, arch shape and other details we achieved a high-aspect, performance foil that can carve smooth curves on the waves and swells.
Wing Model and Specs

F-one Strike V2 Wing
You thought the V1 Strike was awesome? Check out this bad boy. The successor to one of the best and most popular wings on the market, the F-One Strike V2 is coming in hot. With updated sizing and plenty of refinements after customer feedback on the first round, this wing is set to knock it out of the park.
Here is the short and sweet…
- Slightly more compact due to squared off wingtips
- Thicker, stiffer strut
- Slightly thicker handles
- Improved handle placement
- More acceleration
- More range
- Better upwind
- Improved stability
- Less flutter
- Improved jump loft
- More sizes, change by 0.5m increments
Basically, the entire wing has been incrementally improved and refined without losing that Strike V1 magic. The changes level up your performance possibilities, versatility, and also your riding comfort and ergonomics.
The compact design and thicker strut give you more power in your pumping, better response, and more optimal structure when riding powered or as a heavier rider. That, in addition to the improved acceleration, should result in a lower bottom end ability versus the version one wing.
The improved placement of the thicker handles will give you a more comfortable and less fatiguing ride all while the improved performance of the wing allows you to level up your skills more easily and with less stress on your body.
